I was just talking to a rival coach that recently retired and he was commenting on how tough it was to defend our TE side game was.
Nice post coach.
We do not do it enough but Jet and Rocket to the short side has not been a bad play for us. Of course Bucksweep is a staple to the boundary.
Ok I can't help with that, we do not place the back there.
Define H back. The back away from TE or the back to the TE?
Yes we call it Jet Guards Opposite, good against reading teams.
How many of your guys are still running traditional Waggle pulling both guards?
Here is how you can adjust to double A's. PSG makes a "stay" call and will block PS A gap. The stay call tells the bsg that he now kicks. With the stay call it allows to work to second level to...
TE second level on trap, stays on tackle tap (I found the DE got into the play if we did not block him.
I battle with my line coach on what the BST does. What do you do?
A lot of people are afraid to run Gut but it is a great play for the squeezing DT and reading LBs.
We have never been good...
Agreed. You might have slow down/gear down that HB and def make sure he is not rounding that sweep path too much.
I do not think anything would change on the routes. When running to the TE side, how about reduce the X's split and have him run a Corner. Put the HB in the wing position and run the drag.
Wouldn't your QT's number make him ineligible within federation rules?
How do they defend Rocket? With everyone inside and stacked? How do they defend the flats?
There is a lot of guys inside. i would try to formation them to get them out of the 5-3. Do you run a...
Get Four than look to SCORE!
Great question. I do not know the answer but we probably run sweep...20 times during the week. The formation doesn't really matter because it is the line that needs the work more than the backs.
That is how we do it. For years.
I friend is an NZone Mazzone guy and loves 2 man and 3 man snag. It is 5 step for them. We have always run stick with success.
Chris send me one too.
