Thread: Belly to TE

    Default Belly to TE

What would the halfback rules be to Belly to the TE? Would they be different then Belly to the SE side?

I coach it the same. The only difference for me is that since the TE is blocking base for us, that the chances of cross blocking are not as high, therefore he knows there's a possibility of the guard not pulling, so, he's blocking through the B gap.

    Default none

    no difference for us.

  4. Default X-block with...

Does anyone X-block with the TE and Tackle on belly to the Strong side? Say make the hole one gap over?

    Coach123,
When we go Belly Strong, we'll go one gap over if a player is head up or outside shade the tackle, that's the only time. We call it Belly Slide (Belly, slide one gap over)

    No difference for us either.

We block it the same either way also.

We'll make some game adjustments when necessary. Like doubling a pain in the a$$ 4/4i with a TE and sometimes we'll go a hole wider if the situation calls for it.
    Be great!

We treat it as if our TE is not there. He takes an outside release to the OLB. So there is no change to for the HB.
