Thread: Sprint Out Pass to SE side--depth of routes

Default Sprint Out Pass to SE side--depth of routes

Our usual passing tree has #1 playside running flag route and #2 playside running flats/out pattern. However, when we want a different route, we will tag the play with the pattern. So if we want "double outs" for Sprint Pass, we will simply tag it with "Out".

So....when calling Sprint "Out" Pass to the Slot/SE or to the Dive back/SE side, what would be the depth you would have the SE get to before making the cut? And what would be the depth you would have the Slotback/HB get to before making the cut?

    Thanks!

Default RE: Sprint Out to SE Side

    Coach,

We have our slot run a 6 yard deep speed out and our SE runs a 12 yard square out. The QB reads the corner so if he stays back we throw the speed out and if he comes up for the speed out we throw the deep out. Hope this helps.
